A REAL Pottery Workshop!
One hour a week for 4 weeks. Ceramic Handbuilding 101 Workshop with Suzanne
I am bringing my pottery studio to the Finnish American Kindergartens
in Töölö 1 and 2: 4 Wednesday mornings beginning August 24- September 14.
in Ruoholahti : 4 Thursday afternoons beginning August 25- September 15.
Using the book Pumpkin Soup by Helen Cooper as inspiration, we will make a big orange pumpkin using the clay coil technique. Each child will then get to make one to three characters from the book. There is a cat, a squirrel, and a little white duck. We will glaze and underglaze the items during the last week. The big pumpkins and friends will be delivered to the kindergarten two weeks after the completion of the workshop.
Pumpkin Soup Tour
Here is the schedule of fun: We will read and examine the book for inspiration each week.
Day 1: Using snakelike coils we will make TWO bowls.
Day 2: Then we will turn them into a clay balloon! Shaping it into a pumpkin, and adding the stem.
Day 3: We will make one to three characters from the book.
Day 4: We will glaze and underglaze everything we have made.
Projects will be ready for pick up at school two weeks after workshop.

Please send an SMS to me, Suzanne, at 041 517 7096. Include which kindergarten your child is attending, your child’s name, age, your name and email address.
AND! I will take photos of your child working and will send them to you and occasionally post some on my website. Please confirm your approval. Happy kids doing art. Everyone loves it. 🙂
