I love words. I love color. It is natural for me to tie these two loves together and share them with my students.
The puppet club has chosen a secret story and we are very excited about what will be happening from now until the Puppet Show in December. But, Shhh, don’t ask about the story or you’ll spoil the surprise!
There are loads of things to do and figure out before the show. Props, sounds, special effects. The story is only the beginning! The puppets, only one part.
The puppet show will be performed for the Afternoon Club on Wednesday, December 7 at 14.30 (tentative penciled date and time). Everyone is welcome to come watch!
The Fiber Art club has also chosen a book to hear while we stitch our colorful projects. We began The Turtle of Oman by Naomi Shihab Nye, a story about a boy leaving one country behind as he moves to another.
I have promised the children a table filled with colorful fabric, wool, yarn and various material to create with while I read.
Hand stitching is how we will put everything together. It fills me with joy to imagine all of the art these children will create before the end of the year!
It’s been a great first week for my Opinmäki Clubs!
Warmly,
Suzanne
