4 Wednsdays or Thursdays in a row! Ceramic Handbuilding 101 Workshop with Suzanne
I will be coming again with my pottery studio to the Finnish American Kindergarten for another chance for your children to participate in real ceramics workshop.
It’s a Rocket Tour! Using the book Rosie’s Zoo by Ailie Busby as inspiration, we will make big Rocket candle holders using the clay coil technique. Each child will make one to two characters from the book. There is Rosie, her teddy, an elephant, a lion and more animals to choose from. We will glaze the items during the last week. The Rockets will be delivered to the kindergarten two weeks after the completion of the workshop.
Here is the schedule of fun:
Day 1: Using snakelike coils we will make the body of the rocket. Then roll out a pancake to use for legs.
Day 2: We will cut out and attach the sturdy legs. Cut windows and add bolts or texture.
Day 3: We will make 1-2 characters from the book.
Day 4: We will glaze our wares.
Projects will be ready for pick up at school two weeks after workshop.

Photos will occasionally be taken and posted on my website www.niilovilla.com. Please confirm your approval. Happy kids doing art. Everyone loves it.
