We rolled our clay into a ball. Then we rolled it and cut in into a circle. Then we pressed leaves and weeds and flowers into it. Next week we will shape it into a bowl!

Glazed Pumpkins
The first workshop pumpkins have been glazed, washed up and ready for the kiln. They are so orange! Töölö and Ruoholahti FinnAm Kindergartens are filled with budding artists. It was so much fun.
Back to the studio
The pumpkins are taken out of their boxes and carefully cut open. This gives them a utilitarian purpose, along with their artful beauty. They are set on a chipboard bat to dry for about a week. My Ruoholahti Garden!
Day two of our pottery workshop in Ruoholahti was busy and fun. We learned about using slip and scoring. Putting the two parts of the pumpkin together and adding the stem, it was a little tricky but we did it!
